"“Smitty"(Q.W. Smith)
chose the Southwest for his
vacation, seeing relatives
and friends in Claremore,
Okla. While there he took in
the Will Rogers Memorial
Park and saw the old ranch
home of Rogers, Smitty tells
us that the ranch is being
moved from its present location, where a dam is being
constructed, to a hill where
it will become a permanent
historical site.

We achieved a desire of
our heart the past week. We}!
visited the Grass Valley
Aquarium located at 126
So. Church Street. This is
the part business, part hobby
innovation of Joan and Dennis Dilley who moved to their}
present location about two
months ago, They have had
the aquarium for the past
two years and although
small, it makes up for its
lack of size in attractions,
Besides the regular goldfish, it boasts around 30
species of the less common
tropical fish, These are all
in miniature settings somewhat similar to their natural
habitat.
The Dilleys, who make
their home at the same location, are members of the
Nevada County Aquarium

Haircut, Two Bits!
I bet that's about what barber Maxwell of Nevada City
charged in those days, when this picture of his shop was
taken. His shop was next door to Duffy's bar on Broad
street.
Look you collectors of antiques, look at those shelves
filled with shaving cups 32 of them and those bottles!
Doesn't even that old cast-iron stove intrigue you?
I forgot to ask you what do you get for a quarter today?
Society, which isin turn affiliated with. The Inter-,
national Federation of. f
Aquarium Societies.
While in the home we discovered little Janis Dilley,
the new baby daughter who
was born at the Jones Memorial hospital Aug. 28, the
youngest of six.
The house that shelters
both the Dilley family and
the Aquarium is the first
brick house to be built in
Grass Valley. The front portion served for a time as a
doctor's office and it was
also the brithplace of Bill
Kohler, well-known Nevada
