Dean Lawrence had scored the chamber on several counts, including its legal structure as a non profit corporation. The county provides most of the chamber's financing but exercises no control over its activities other than budgetary, she charged, — Auditor John Trauner subsent quently asked County CounselNevada County Home Health ~ Leo Todd to obtain a court test to determine the validity of the. chamber. organization because of the questions raised by Mrs. Lawrence. At Tuesday's meeting, Todd attempted to resolve the situation because the chamber cannot receive funds to pay its staff ever, no solution was reached by the board, so Todd indicated he will proceed with the court test which could take up tothree months, However, Board Chairman Willie Curran, upset that the lack of chamber funds may de© stroy the organization, called a discussion of the subject for 2 p.m. next Tuesday and promised that numerous representatives from chambers will attend.
