An Ordinance to provide for the compensation of the Justice of the Peace,
HE Trustees of the Vity of Nevada do
ordain as follows:
Section I. The Justice of the Peace of Nevada Township shall for all services rendered the City of Nevadain each crintinal case
when contested, receive the sum of Three
Dollars. If the defendant pleads guilty
where the fine is not collected he shall receive One Dollar, to be paid out of the city
treasury; rovided, however, that in case
the fine should be collected from the defendant, the fee of said Justice shall be retained out of the money so Collected, the
balance to be paid into the City Treasury by
the Marshal, takihg his receipt therefor.
Section 2. In nocase where the fine shall
be collected, whatever the amount of the
same may be, as imposed by the Justice of
the Peaee, shall the City be responsible to
the Justice of the Peace for any fees mentioned in this Ordinance.
Section 8. The Marshal or Policeman
shall attend, on Court uuring trial of any of
the City Ordinances, and shall receive no
compensation in all cases of arrest for violation of City Ordinances, serving subpwna,
or mileage,
Section 4, Ordinance No. 103, . passed
June 2ist, 1883, and Section 1 of Ordinance
No. 16, pouting for compensation of. Marshal and Policeman, passed by the Trustees
of the City of Nevada March 17th, 1870, is
hereby repealed, and all Ordinances heretofore passed pasting to or fixing the fees
of any of the officersin this Ordinanco mentioned are hereby repealed.
